We’ll be at Chatsworth Country Fair again this year, following the success of last year’s event.

Any of you have been to our stand before, will know we always have some amazing deals on oak flooring, doors and architectural ironwork, so if you’ve been holding off buying your new floor, now’s the time to get a great deal.
Chatsworth Country Fair is simply the best in the country and offers the whole family a huge variety of things to see and do.
The Met Office suggests the weather’s going to be good all weekend so we hope to see you all there from Friday 3rd September to Sunday 5th September.

Our classic grade oak flooring is a bit of a rare beast.
We select it for its medullary rays and figuring from our standard character grade flooring and we get perhaps a few boards out of every hundred boards of character.

It just so happened that when this customer visited us, we had some classic grade in stock and when they saw it, they just had to have it in their home.
Classic grade oak has a similar number and size of knots as our character grade and so looks great in a traditional setting like ths one.
The customer simply applied two coats of Osmo Polyx-Oil Satin (we supply Osmo at probably the lowest price in the country!) and the result was the beautiful floor you see here.

If you like the look of classic grade oak flooring and would like some in your home, please call us well in advance of when you need it – we usually have some in stock, but if we take a big order, it can take a while to replenish the stock.

Excuse the pun, but we really are growing…
An increase in oak flooring sales mean we’ve had to plant more oak trees on the farm and welcome a new member to the Peak Oak team.
First off, we’re pleased to introduce Clint Rushton.

Clint’s role is to make sure our stores run smoothly, organising our flooring into grades and ensuring that your order is packed and dispatched correctly.
If you visit us, you’ll no doubt see Clint whizzing around on the forklift!
Secondly, we’re increasing our oak tree planting programme to make an effort to offset the trees cut down to produce our flooring.

All of our oak flooring comes from sustainable, carefully managed forests in Europe where trees are planted to replace those felled.
Our trees are planted in addition to those planted by the forests.
There’s a big debate at the moment as to the value of FSC or PEFC approval for retailers selling to the public.
Look out for a big post on this blog detailing our views in the near future – we’ll also be asking you for your opinions.
